I’ve listened to dozens of startup books, and *Accelerated Startup* is the first that made me pause mid-commute to scribble notes. Golomb’s approach is refreshingly anti-guru: he doesn’t promise unicorn status, but he *does* hand you a checklist to avoid becoming roadkill. The chapter on ‘pre-traction metrics’—where he eviscerates vanity metrics like social media followers—should be required listening for every founder. Siders’ narration elevates the material; his slightly gravelly tone gives weight to Golomb’s warnings, and he handles the technical sections (like cap table math) with clarity, avoiding the robotic cadence that sinks so many business audiobooks. That said, this isn’t a casual listen. Golomb’s density of insights demands rewinds—his riff on ‘the three types of co-founder conflicts’ alone is worth the price, but you’ll need to pause to digest. My only critique? The latter third leans heavily into fundraising tactics, which may feel niche for bootstrappers. And while Siders’ performance is strong, his emphasis on certain phrases (*‘You. Will. Run. Out. Of. Cash.’*) occasionally veers into dramatic territory. Still, if you’re serious about building—not just dreaming—this is the audiobook that’ll save you from yourself.
