After Midnight

Having had the pleasure of listening to After Midnight, I can attest to the captivating experience it provides. The diverse cast of narrators masterfully brings each story to life, with their varied vocal inflections and expressions adding depth to Du Maurier's already vivid prose. My personal favorites were 'The Birds,' expertly narrated by Ruth Lass, and 'Don't Look Now,' delivered with chilling precision by Jeff Harding. The pacing, too, was impeccable, drawing me in from the first eerie caw to the final, unsettling note. One minor critique would be the occasional jarring sound effects, which, while effective, momentarily broke the immersion. Nonetheless, this audiobook is a testament to the enduring power of Du Maurier's storytelling and the talents of its narrators.
