The pacing is where this audiobook shines—and occasionally stumbles. Burrows excels at ratcheting up tension during the tiger attacks, using abrupt silences and clipped delivery to make the violence feel sudden and brutal. But the middle act drags slightly as the procedural elements take over; while the bureaucracy adds realism, there are moments where I found myself wishing for more tiger, less paperwork.
