I was hooked from the first chapter. Emily Beresford's narration is a delight, her ability to switch between accents and tones making each character distinct and engaging. The pacing is perfect, balancing high-stakes action with witty banter and steamy romance. I found myself laughing one moment and holding my breath the next. However, I did feel that some secondary characters could have been more fully developed.
