About This Audiobook

If you’ve ever wanted a paranormal romance that’s equal parts cozy and chaotic, *Bear Necessities* delivers with a heaping helping of charm and a dash of danger. Alexander "Bunny" Bunsun is a grizzly shifter with a penchant for mischief and a heart that’s bigger than his bear form. This isn’t your typical alpha-mate trope—Bunny’s antics are so relentless, they’ll have you laughing out loud, even as his stubborn protectiveness threatens to derail the slow-burn romance. Dana Marie Bell’s world feels lived-in, with secondary characters who steal the show just as often as the leads, and a small-town setting that radiates warmth. The tension isn’t just in the sizzle of the romance; it’s in the way the stakes escalate with every misplaced step Bunny takes.

Samantha Cook’s narration is the cherry on top, breathing life into Bell’s dialogue with a voice that’s as playful as Bunny’s personality. Cook nails the rhythm of snarky banter and tender moments, making it easy to forget you’re listening rather than watching the chaos unfold. But don’t expect a gentle ride—this audiobook is a rollercoaster of puns, pranks, and unexpected tenderness, all wrapped in a cozy package that’s less ‘fluffy’ and more ‘furry.’ If you’re craving a romance that’s equal parts heart and humor, with a side of supernatural flair, *Bear Necessities* might just be your next obsession.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I’ll admit, I was skeptical when I started *Bear Necessities*—a pun-loving bear shifter who introduces himself as "Bunny" sounded like a recipe for cringe. But Dana Marie Bell’s writing and Samantha Cook’s narration turned my doubts into pure delight. Cook’s performance is a masterclass in balancing Bunny’s rapid-fire energy with his rare moments of vulnerability. Her voice for Bunny is a mix of gruff charm and playful mischief, and she makes the side characters—like the no-nonsense heroine or the long-suffering best friend—feel just as vivid. The pacing is snappy, with enough banter to keep me grinning and enough stakes to remind me this isn’t just a silly romp. That said, the audiobook isn’t without flaws. The secondary romance subplot feels underdeveloped, almost like an afterthought wedged in to pad the word count. And while Cook’s narration is excellent, some of the side characters’ voices blend together, making it hard to keep track of the supporting cast at times. But these are minor quibbles in an otherwise addictive listen. By the final chapter, I was fully invested in Bunny’s chaotic journey, and I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series. If you’re a fan of paranormal romances that prioritize humor and heart over angst, this one’s a must-listen.
