Fentriss Moore’s narration sold me on this audiobook before I even heard Kreeft’s words. His voice has the rare ability to sound both ancient and lively—a perfect match for a philosopher who quotes Boethius one minute and cracks a dad joke the next. The first chapter alone had me pausing to jot down lines like, *“We are all terminal; all we have is today.”* But Moore’s delivery isn’t flawless; his pacing stumbles in a few spots where Kreeft’s metaphor-heavy tangents sprawl, making moments feel dragged. Still, the payoff is worth it. My biggest critique? The book’s structure assumes a certain Catholic familiarity—non-doctrinal listeners might need a Bible app handy for pop-quotes like *“Mary’s fiat”* or *“the Immaculate Conception.”* That said, Kreeft’s stories about his grandmother’s faith or his own near-death encounter with a taxi driver are universally gripping. The production is clean, with no jarring edits, but the lack of chapter markers is a minor nuisance for audiobook newbies. Bottom line: If you’ve ever wanted a philosopher to sit at your kitchen table and explain why hell exists before dessert, this is the next best thing.
