I was immediately drawn into 'Beneath the Moors' by its unique setting and promise of ancient secrets. Joshua Saxon's narration is a standout feature, his deep, resonant voice lending a sense of gravitas and unease to the story. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the tension to build slowly, much like a pot simmering on the stove. Lumley's descriptions of the hidden city are vivid and evocative, painting a clear picture in the listener's mind. My only critique is that some of the academic dialogue can feel a bit dry, but it's a small price to pay for the richly rewarding story. Overall, this is a fantastic listen for anyone seeking a chilling, atmospheric tale with a strong sense of place.
