His voice has this rare quality: deep enough to feel authoritative, yet warm enough to avoid sounding like a pulpit pounding. He doesn’t overact the dramatic moments (a pet peeve of mine), instead letting the material’s strangeness speak for itself. Take the section on ‘life reviews’—most narrators would ham up the eerie pauses or dramatic inflections, but Morrow treats it like a clinical study, which somehow makes the accounts even more chilling. That said, the pacing drags in the middle third when Joyce gets deep into Tibetan cosmology. I found myself wishing for more personal anecdotes or less dense terminology; the ideas are fascinating, but the delivery occasionally feels like a dissertation. The production is flawless otherwise—crisp audio, no distractions. My only other nitpick: some of the reincarnation case studies feel repetitive, as if Joyce is trying to over-prove a point that doesn’t need it. Still, by the final chapter, I was convinced: this isn’t just a book about the afterlife; it’s a mirror. Morrow’s performance ensures it’s one you’ll want to revisit, even if it leaves you questioning everything you thought you knew.
