Callie Dalton shines as the no-nonsense women who refuse to be damsels, her dry wit cutting through the testosterone like a knife. My only critique? The pacing in Shot in the Dark stumbles slightly in the middle, as if the steamy romance needed a bit more breathing room. That said, the final installment, Contingency Plan, redeems everything with a jaw-dropping cliffhanger that left me begging for Box Set 2. The audio production is crisp, the parrot’s squawks are weirdly endearing, and the sheer audacity of these characters’ chemistry makes it impossible not to get invested.
