But Dave Wright’s narration sold me midway through the first chapter. His tone is confident but never condescending, and he lands Rice’s analogies with surgical precision. The section on smart contracts, which I’ve always struggled to grasp, finally clicked when Wright compared them to vending machines: “You pay, the machine delivers, no middleman.” It’s exactly the kind of simplification that works, unlike the vague metaphors you see elsewhere. That said, the audiobook isn’t flawless. The production quality is solid but not exceptional—some tracks have a slight tinny echo, and the chapter markers are spaced closer than I’d like for a 96-minute listen.
