Callie Dalton’s performance as the heroine is phenomenal—she nails the balance between strength and vulnerability, especially in scenes where she’s pushing back against Braxten’s alpha tendencies. But Teddy Hamilton? *Damn.* His voice is like rough velvet, especially when Braxten’s control slips and the rawness of his past bleeds through. There’s a scene midway through where his voice actually cracks—subtle, but it wrecked me. That said, the pacing isn’t perfect. The first act drags slightly as the backstory unfolds, and there’s a side character (you’ll know him when you hear him) whose dialogue veers into cliché tough-guy territory. But the payoff is worth it. The suspense elements are *tight*—no filler, no convenient plot armor—and the romance builds organically, with trust earned in fragments. The production quality is top-notch, too; the audio levels are consistent, and the use of ambient sound during action sequences (a distant gunshot, a revving engine) adds immersion without being distracting.
