Lauryn Nichols nails Savanhi’s mix of ice and fire—her delivery of lines like *“Loyalty’s just a word until it’s tested”* carries the weight of a woman who’s already lost the war once. Midnite Michael’s Noble is all smooth confidence, but he smartly underplays the arrogance, letting the character’s vulnerability seep through in the final act. That said, the pacing stumbles slightly in the middle. The push-pull between Savanhi and Noble drags in a couple of scenes where the tension could’ve been tighter—like a chess match where both players keep resetting the board. And while the production is crisp, a few abrupt transitions between chapters (especially during flashbacks) yank you out of the moment. Still, the payoff is worth it.
