Bums

As a listener, I was immediately drawn in by Will Patton's narration. His voice is like a worn-out leather jacket, weathered and authentic, perfectly suited to Krueger's gritty tales. The stories themselves are a mix of the haunting and the mundane, each one a snapshot of lives on the fringes. 'Bums' is a stark, unyielding exploration of poverty and desperation, while 'The Night Bells' is a chilling tale of obsession and revenge. The pacing is steady, each story unfolding like a slow-burning fuse, building to a satisfying, if often dark, conclusion. My only critique is that some stories could have benefited from a bit more nuance in their endings. But overall, Bums is a compelling listen, a unique exploration of the human condition that's not for the faint of heart.
