Narrators Lucy Rivers and Alexander Cendese are the audiobook equivalent of casting two A-list rom-com leads—because that’s exactly what they are. Her chemistry with Cendese’s performance of Austin’s ex (and eventual rebound) is electric, especially in the snarky verbal sparring matches that feel like eavesdropping on a friends’ group chat gone rogue. The production quality is crisp, with just enough pauses to let the humor land without overdoing it. That said, the audiobook stumbles slightly when Van Dyken leans into forced quirky side characters—some accents feel a beat too on-the-nose, and a few scenes drag when the humor tries too hard. Still, by the final act, you’ll be rooting for Austin hard enough to forgive the occasional misstep. The narration elevates an already addictive story, making the audiobook the ideal way to devour this revenge fantasy in one binge-worthy sitting.
