But from the first chapter, Mason shreds those expectations. The hero, a man who’s spent years hiding in plain sight, isn’t just brooding—he’s *haunted*, and his scars (literal and otherwise) aren’t just backstory; they’re active characters in the narrative. Rivers and Harding’s narration elevates this even further. Rivers’ performance as the heroine is a masterclass in controlled intensity—every hesitation, every flicker of defiance feels razor-sharp, while Harding’s voice drips with a raw, almost painful masculinity that makes his vulnerability feel earned, not forced. The pacing, however, stumbles in the middle act. A secondary subplot drags a bit, and the resolution, while satisfying, wraps up a touch too neatly for my taste. Still, the payoff is worth it. The chemistry between the leads is electric, the tension is relentless, and the audiobook’s production quality is top-tier, with seamless transitions between narrators. If you’re here for a romance that punches you in the feels and then kisses the bruise, *Claim* delivers—flaws and all.
