Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

As I listened to Counterattacks at Thirty, I found myself becoming increasingly invested in Jihye's journey, cheering her on as she navigates the trials and tribulations of her corporate job. Sohn's writing is a masterclass in subtlety, never shying away from the complexities and nuances of her characters' experiences. Yuan's narration was a perfect match for the book's tone, bringing a sense of warmth and intimacy to the audiobook that made me feel like I was eavesdropping on Jihye's innermost thoughts. One of the book's greatest strengths is its ability to balance humor and pathos, never feeling too saccharine or overly sentimental. However, at times, I felt that the supporting cast could have been fleshed out a bit more. Some of the characters feel a tad one-dimensional, which detracts slightly from the overall impact of the story. Nonetheless, Counterattacks at Thirty is a deeply moving and thought-provoking audiobook that will resonate with anyone who's ever felt like they're just trying to figure out who they are in this crazy world.
