Editor's Review

AudioBook Atlas

I was deeply moved by the Armstrongs' story, and Detlef Bierstedt's narration was a significant part of that impact. His understated delivery allowed the emotional weight of the narrative to shine through, and his characterization of Jack and Lizzie was spot on. One area where the production could improve is in the pacing of some of the more introspective scenes, which occasionally felt a bit slow. Nevertheless, Baldacci's writing is superb, and the themes of love, mortality, and the importance of human connection are timely and thought-provoking. If you're looking for a story that will linger with you long after the final chapter, Das Glück eines Sommers is an excellent choice.
