About This Audiobook

Death of a Duchess is a hauntingly unique blend of romance and horror, set in a Victorian society that shuns Lenora's extraordinary ability. Narrator Liz Gentle's performance is a standout, bringing a chilling elegance to the story that's as captivating as it is unsettling. What truly sets this audiobook apart is its exploration of Lenora's isolation, not just from society, but from her own past. It's a slow burn that keeps you guessing, with a final twist that's as satisfying as it is shocking.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I was drawn into 'Death of a Duchess' from the very first chapter, thanks in large part to Liz Gentle's narration. She masterfully captures Lenora's quiet strength and vulnerability, making her a protagonist you can't help but root for. The story itself is a slow dance with the supernatural, with Steele expertly building tension through Lenora's isolated existence and her growing connection with a mysterious, otherworldly presence. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the horror to simmer and bubble until it reaches a boiling point. My only critique is that some of the secondary characters could have been more fully fleshed out, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook.
