Bob Hartman’s narration is a masterclass in engaging young listeners. His pacing is impeccable—slow enough for kids to process, but brisk enough to hold attention. I especially loved how he voices the “Dino Dig” facts with a mix of scientific gravitas and goofy enthusiasm, like he’s sharing secrets from a paleontologist’s notebook. That said, the background music (light, adventurous strings) occasionally feels *too* present, competing with Hartman’s delivery in a few spots. And while the journal prompts are thoughtful, some lean a bit young for the upper end of the 6–10 target age—my 9-year-old tester rolled her eyes at “Draw a dinosaur praying.” Still, the audiobook’s charm lies in its specificity. This isn’t a generic “God is love” collection; it’s a devotional that meets kids where they are—obsessed with *Jurassic Park*, collecting fossil replicas, or debating which dino would win in a fight. For families tired of saccharine religious content, or parents who want to sneak theology into dino-mania, this is a refreshing, well-crafted pick. Just be ready for your kid to demand a trip to the natural history museum afterward.
