Don't Go

As I listened to Jeremy Davidson's masterful narration of Don't Go, I found myself completely absorbed in the world of Dr. Mike Scanlon, an army doctor with a deep sense of duty and a secret to hide. Scottoline's writing is razor-sharp, expertly balancing the breakneck pace of a thriller with the quiet introspection of a character-driven drama. The result is a story that's impossible to put down – and one that will leave you breathless and disturbed in equal measure. If I have any quibbles, it's that some of the supporting characters feel a touch one-dimensional, and the pacing occasionally falters in the book's slower sections. But these are minor complaints in an otherwise exceptional audiobook.
