I devoured Drop Beat like a freshly baked cookie, unable to resist its warm, inviting charm. Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke's narration is a dream team, with Mallon's lively portrayal of baker extraordinaire, Daisy, and Clarke's rugged take on drummer Keller Cannon creating a dynamic duo that's impossible not to root for. The story moves at a steady pace, with just the right amount of tension and release to keep you hooked. I loved the family dynamics and the strong friendships, but I must admit, the baking descriptions had me craving a sweet treat more than once! My only critique? I wish there was a little more depth to Keller's character, but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise delightful listen.
