Drums of Autumn

As a long-time fan of the Outlander series, I was thrilled to dive back into the lives of Jamie and Claire. Davina Porter's narration is a significant draw, her ability to distinguish between characters and maintain consistent accents throughout the 45-hour runtime is commendable. The story itself is a masterclass in world-building, with Gabaldon effortlessly weaving together historical events, fantastical elements, and a romance that feels as timeless as the time-traveling plot. However, the pacing can feel slow at times, particularly in the middle sections, but the intricate plot and engaging characters more than make up for it. I also found the resolution of a certain subplot a tad too neat, but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook experience.
