The pacing stumbles slightly in the 19th-century section, where back-to-back Victorian heavyweights (Müller, Moody) start to blur—here, a bit more contrast in the narration styles would’ve helped. And while the modern figures (like Francis Schaeffer) get sharper cultural context, I wished for deeper excavation of their contradictions (e.g., Schaeffer’s art-love vs. his culture-war legacy). Still, the production’s use of ambient sound—distant hymn snippets, typewriter clacks during Elliot’s journal entries—elevates this from lecture to *experience*.
