I went into *Eye Candy* expecting a light, forgettable listen, but Lemmon’s razor-sharp writing and the narrators’ electric performances turned it into a full-blown addiction. Summerer’s smug, athletic jogger voice is so annoyingly charming you’ll want to reach through your headphones and shake him—while Eby’s Claire is the perfect foil, all frost and fire. The banter is razor-edged, especially in their early exchanges, where every line feels like a verbal sparring match with subtext oozing off the page. My only gripe? The middle act drags a touch as the plot plays it safe, trading some of its edgy humor for formulaic tension. But the payoff—a full-throttle, no-holds-barred finale—more than makes up for it. Production-wise, the pacing never lags, and the sound design subtly underscores the humor without stealing the spotlight. If you crave rom-coms that sizzle with wit and a dash of danger, this audiobook delivers in spades—just don’t blame me if you start window-gazing at 11:45 yourself.
