As a lifelong fan of historical fiction, I was immediately swept up in the opulent world of A Caribbean Heiress in Paris. The narrator's masterful performance brings the characters and settings to vivid life, transporting me to the vibrant streets of 19th-century Paris. One of the standout elements of this production is its thoughtful exploration of colonialism and power dynamics – Luz Alana's struggles to navigate the complexities of her family's rum empire are both timely and thought-provoking. My only critique would be the somewhat rushed pacing in the book's final act – I found myself wishing for a slightly more leisurely conclusion to the story. Still, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise exceptional production.
