Betrayal

As an avid listener, I found ‘Betrayal’ to be a profoundly moving experience. Laural Merlington's narration is simply exquisite; her ability to modulate her voice for each character adds depth and realism that keeps the story engaging from start to finish. The pacing is well-balanced, allowing time for both the historical context to settle in and the emotional beats of the narrative to resonate. However, there are moments where some of the subplots feel a bit underdeveloped, which occasionally pulled me out of the moment. Despite this minor critique, Hatcher's masterful storytelling and Merlington’s nuanced performance make ‘Betrayal’ an audiobook I highly recommend for those who appreciate literary fiction with a strong emotional core.
