Alyssa Bresnahan delivers an outstanding narration, bringing a vivacious energy to T. C. Boyle’s sardonic dialogue and Cat’s eccentricity. While the narrative often hits its marks with surgical precision, there are moments where the satirical edge veers towards the obvious, slightly undercutting the overall impact.
