Editor's Review ★★★★

AudioBook Atlas

As an audiobook editor, I was immediately drawn into the world of the Briar Creek Public Library, thanks in large part to Allyson Ryan's captivating narration. Her portrayal of Lindsey Norris is spot-on, capturing the character's intelligence, wit, and determination. One of the standout elements of the story is the way McKinlay explores the intersection of book clubs and mystery, using the former as a clever framework for the latter. However, I did feel that the supporting cast could have benefited from more development - a few of the secondary characters felt somewhat one-dimensional. That being said, the pacing is well-executed, with a steady stream of clues and red herrings that kept me guessing until the very end. If you're a fan of clever mysteries and likable amateur sleuths, 'Books Can Be Deceiving' is an excellent choice.
