Chastity

Listening to Chastity was like stepping into a charming ballroom dance, where each turn of phrase is perfectly timed. Nicky Griffiths’ portrayal of Chastity herself brings just the right amount of youthful exuberance and vulnerability. Alan Medcroft’s voice as Mr. Wentworth is both suave and slightly aloof, mirroring his character's complex emotions. The chemistry between these narrators propels the story forward with a delightful energy that mirrors Watts' own deft hand at weaving humor and drama. However, there were moments where the pacing felt slightly uneven, particularly in some of the quieter scenes which could have benefited from a bit more emotional depth. Despite this, Chastity remains a must-listen for anyone who loves well-crafted historical romances with a dash of reality.
