I was struck by the way Jordi Salas' narration seemed to dance across the text, imbuing each phrase with a sense of weight and resonance that's rare in audiobooks. Yet, despite his skillful performance, I couldn't shake the feeling that the pacing was occasionally a tad too slow, particularly in the section on 'The Ground' (Kokoro), where Musashi's ideas feel somewhat more abstract and demanding of close attention. That said, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise outstanding production. The real magic happens when you let Musashi's words sink in, allowing the insights and ideas to percolate beneath the surface and emerge in unexpected ways. As you navigate the Five Rings, you'll find yourself drawn into a world of paradoxes, riddles, and contradictions that challenge your assumptions and expand your perspective in equal measure. It's an experience that's both deeply personal and profoundly universal – one that can be savored, returned to, and reinterpreted countless times.
