Felicia's Favorites

I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about diving into another family drama, but Danielle Steel's Felicia's Favorites won me over from the very first chapter. Jim Frangione's narration is outstanding – his gentle cadence and subtle inflections bring the characters to life in a way that feels almost intimate. The way he handles the multiple storylines and character arcs is impressive, never once getting lost in the web of relationships and plot twists. My only criticism would be that at times, the pacing feels a tad rushed, particularly when it comes to the more minor characters. However, Steel's masterful storytelling and Frangione's exceptional narration make up for this minor quibble. This is a book that will make you laugh, cry, and reflect on your own relationships and what truly matters in life.
