Frontiersman: Daniel Boone and the Making of America

Todd Barsness’ narration is nothing short of superb. His ability to convey the rugged landscapes and tumultuous times is nothing less than masterful. The pacing is just right—slowing down during dramatic narratives while maintaining urgency in action sequences. Each character, from Boone himself to his fellow settlers and Native American allies, comes alive through Barsness’ nuanced performances. However, a few chapters feel slightly rushed, detracting from the overall flow of the narrative. Despite this minor critique, 'Frontiersman' remains an engaging and enlightening listen that offers much more than just the surface-level legend of Daniel Boone.
