I was hooked from the opening scene of Girls with Razor Hearts, and Caitlin Davies' narration played a significant role in drawing me in. Her voice is versatile and expressive, effortlessly conveying the emotions and motivations of the characters. Davies' pacing is well-judged, too, with a tempo that perfectly matches the breakneck action and suspenseful moments. As I listened, I found myself becoming increasingly invested in Zephyr's struggles and the world she inhabits. However, at times I felt that Young's world-building could have been more detailed, with some supporting characters feeling somewhat one-dimensional. Nonetheless, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise engaging and suspenseful listen. Overall, Girls with Razor Hearts is a gripping thriller that will appeal to fans of The Hunger Games and Divergent series.
