Ida, in Love and in Trouble

Janina Edwards' performance is a revelation, breathing such authenticity into the characters that you can almost taste the grit of Memphis' past. Her portrayal of Ida, with its perfect mix of innocence and courage, keeps listeners hooked until the very end. The pacing is deliberate yet never tedious, allowing for moments of introspection alongside the plot's dramatic crescendos. However, as an editor, I wish the audiobook delved deeper into some of the supporting characters to offer a more comprehensive understanding of their roles in Ida’s journey. Still, Veronica Chambers’ script is so engaging that it makes this minor critique almost irrelevant.
