As I listened to La canción de los maoríes, I found myself completely swept up in the world of 19th-century New Zealand, where the rugged landscape and rich cultural heritage provide a stunning backdrop for the story. Laura Monedero's narration is a huge part of the audiobook's charm - she brings a warm, gentle tone to the narrative that perfectly suits the emotional intensity of the story. I particularly appreciated the way she handled the multiple storylines, weaving them together with ease and never sacrificing clarity for the sake of drama. My only nitpicks are that the pacing can feel a bit slow at times, and some of the supporting characters feel a tad one-dimensional. However, these minor quibbles are easily overlooked in the face of Lark's beautiful writing and Monedero's captivating performance.
