I found myself fully engrossed from the first word. The ensemble cast delivers performances that are both authentic and varied, ensuring no two characters sound alike, despite their shared author. Isaac Bean’s portrayal of Tom Canty is particularly compelling, capturing the boy’s innocence and curiosity with a voice that's youthful yet wise. Jerry Robbins as Edward VI, the prince, brings a regal dignity and a hint of vulnerability to his role, making his character relatable even in his privileged position. The Colonial Radio Players’ narration adds depth and authenticity to the setting, grounding the narrative in Twain’s meticulous world-building. While there are moments where the pacing feels slightly rushed, these minor critiques do not detract from the overall listening experience. Instead, they highlight a story rich with plot twists and emotional moments that make every minute worthwhile.
