About This Audiobook

Me of Little Faith is a scathing yet surprisingly empathetic exploration of the absurdities of modern spirituality. Lewis Black's signature wit and outrage are on full display as he tackles topics like the prosperity gospel, Scientology, and the perils of New Age nonsense. What sets this audiobook apart is Black's willingness to confront his own lack of faith, making for a refreshingly honest and vulnerable narrative. Narrated by Black himself, the audiobook benefits from his natural, conversational delivery, which feels more like a rant with a friend than a lecture from a pulpit.

As a seasoned comic, Black knows how to land a punchline, but he also knows when to pause for dramatic effect, letting the listener absorb the full weight of his words. The production quality is similarly polished, with clear sound design and a well-balanced mix that makes it easy to follow Black's rapid-fire delivery. Whether you're a fan of Black's stand-up or just looking for a thought-provoking listen, Me of Little Faith is a must-listen for anyone interested in the complex, often hilarious world of modern spirituality.

AudioBook Atlas

I'll be the first to admit it: I went into Me of Little Faith expecting a typical Lewis Black rant. And while there's plenty of that to go around, I was surprised by how much emotional depth Black brings to the table. His story about visiting a Scientology center and being bombarded with awkward small talk is both cringe-worthy and hilarious, but it's also a clever commentary on the ways in which we try to justify our faith systems to others. The pacing is similarly well-balanced, with Black moving seamlessly from one joke to the next to more serious explorations of his own spiritual search. One of the things that keeps Me of Little Faith from being a truly great audiobook is the occasional feeling that Black is trying to tackle too many topics at once. At times, the narrative feels a bit disjointed, with Black leaping from one subject to another without always providing enough context to follow. Still, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise excellent listen. Black's narration is, as always, top-notch, and his ability to balance humor and vulnerability makes for a deeply compelling listen. I'd highly recommend Me of Little Faith to fans of Black's stand-up or anyone interested in exploring the complexities of modern spirituality.
