Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

The narration by Jeff Woodman and the chilling recitations from Will Damron add distinct layers to John Berendt's already vivid storytelling. Their performances are so immersive that you almost feel like a guest at the bonfire where Berendt’s tales originate. The pacing is deliberate, allowing each character and their fate to unfold gradually, making every moment count. However, some might find the extensive historical background a bit dense; it requires active engagement rather than passive listening. Despite this minor quibble, the audiobook remains an unmissable exploration of Savannah's dark past and the complex human dramas that play out in its gardens and alleys.
