Each story element—from the initial curiosity leading to involvement, to the close calls and narrow escapes—is expertly narrated, keeping listeners on the edge of their seats. However, the production could benefit from a bit more atmospheric sound design, particularly during climactic moments that rely heavily on the listener’s imagination. Despite this minor critique, ‘Pirates of Key West’ remains an engrossing listen, offering both history buffs and true crime enthusiasts plenty to ponder.
