Shakespeare: The Histories

Ian McKellen’s commanding presence sets the tone for this sprawling collection. His portrayal of Henry V resonates with such authenticity that it's hard to separate his performance from the character itself. Derek Jacobi and Timothy West add their own gravitas, making Richard III and King John equally compelling. However, the pacing can feel a bit uneven at times, which occasionally disrupts the seamless flow of these grand narratives. Despite this minor flaw, the full cast’s commitment and the production quality make it an indispensable listening experience for Shakespeare aficionados.
