Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I had the pleasure of listening to 'Studies at the School by the Sea' and was thoroughly enchanted by Eilidh Beaton's narration and Jenny Colgan's writing. Beaton brings a sense of energy and warmth to the story, and her voice is perfectly suited to the lighthearted yet emotional tone of the series. As I listened, I found myself fully invested in the characters' lives and struggles, particularly Maggie Adair's journey towards self-discovery. The pacing is well-balanced, with a narrative that flows smoothly and keeps the listener engaged. One of the standout elements of the audiobook is the way Colgan explores the complexities of teaching and the impact it has on her characters' lives. However, at times, the supporting characters felt slightly one-dimensional, which took away from my complete immersion in the story. Nevertheless, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent listen.
