The Ashford Affair

I devoured The Ashford Affair in one sitting, and I'm still reeling from the experience. Nicola Barber's narration was instrumental in drawing me in, her voice weaving a spell that made the hours fly by. Her delivery is pitch-perfect, capturing the subtleties of the characters' emotions and bringing the era to vivid life. The pacing is expertly managed, with just the right balance of tension and release to keep me hooked. One of the things that sets The Ashford Affair apart is its thoughtful exploration of the intersections between class, identity, and power. Willig doesn't shy away from tackling difficult topics, and the result is a novel that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable. If I have any criticism, it's that the supporting cast sometimes feels a bit one-dimensional - I would have loved to see more depth and development in some of the secondary characters. Nevertheless, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook.
