The Down Days

I found ‘The Down Days’ to be a gripping and tense listen, thanks largely to the stellar narration by Bianca Amato and Gideon Emery. Their performances are so convincing that characters feel almost real—Amato’s voice for the protagonist is particularly strong, imbuing her with resilience and vulnerability in equal measure. The plot twists are unexpected and well-paced, making it hard not to stay engaged until the very end. However, there were moments where some of the subplots felt a bit too convoluted, detracting slightly from the overall flow. Nonetheless, the core mystery is so well-crafted that these flaws are easily overlooked. This audiobook is perfect for fans of fast-paced mysteries with a strong female protagonist and a hint of political intrigue.
