The Metamorphosis

Ralph Cosham’s narration is nothing short of exceptional in this adaptation of ‘The Metamorphosis.’ His performance captures the unsettling nature of Kafka’s prose with uncanny precision. The story itself is a tour de force—Gregor's transformation from a human to an insect is so vividly portrayed that it becomes almost unbearable to listen to at times, mirroring the psychological strain experienced by the character. Despite its brevity, the audiobook manages to maintain a consistent and compelling pace, making even the most mundane scenes feel charged with tension. However, some listeners might find Cosham’s voice too flat for the more emotional passages. Overall, this is an outstanding way to experience one of literature’s most significant works.
