The Princess in Black, Books 1-3

Julia Whelan’s performance as Princess Magnolia is nothing short of magical. Her voice captures the character’s duality—sweet and timid one moment, bold and resourceful the next—with such nuance that it’s easy to picture the scenes unfolding in your mind. The stories themselves are engaging, blending action-packed monster chases with gentle lessons about bravery and self-discovery. However, some of the more complex plot twists feel a bit rushed, which might leave younger listeners with lingering questions. Overall, 'The Princess in Black' is a delightful listen that will have kids asking for seconds (or thirds) of these fantastical tales.
