I'll be honest, I was a bit skeptical about diving into a time-traveling sci-fi adventure set in ancient Britannia. But as I listened to The Sword of Jupiter, I found myself completely swept up in the story. Kevin Kemp's narration is a big part of what makes this audiobook work – his energy is infectious, and he brings a sense of excitement and danger to the proceedings that's impossible to resist. One thing I appreciated about The Sword of Jupiter is the way Starnes uses historical events to inform his narrative, while still leaving room for creative liberties. It's clear that he's done his research, and the result is a story that feels both grounded and fantastical. If I have any criticisms, it's that a few of the supporting characters feel a bit one-dimensional at times – I would have loved to learn more about their backstories and motivations.
