Emilia Fox's narration is nothing short of mesmerizing. Her ability to shift tones seamlessly captures the essence of each character, from the young British adventurer to the mysterious Arab woman with hidden secrets. The tension builds expertly as you follow the trail of a wounded spy in a city teeming with spies and intrigue. However, there are moments where the pacing feels slightly uneven, dragging on just enough to keep listeners guessing but not quite as smoothly as Christie's prose would suggest. Despite this minor quibble, their audiobook remains an exhilarating listen that delivers on all fronts.
