Annette Chown and Nik Howden’s performances are nothing short of stellar in Weird by Jeremy Strong. Their ability to capture the distinct personalities of Josh and Fizz, respectively, is impressive, with Chown’s bubbly energy perfectly complementing Howden’s slightly more reserved approach. The story itself, while simple, packs a surprising punch through its exploration of what it means to be different—and how friendship can bridge even the most unusual gaps. The pacing is just right, keeping listeners engaged throughout the 3.5-hour journey. However, some scenes feel a bit rushed, leaving me wishing for more detail in certain key moments. Still, this audiobook remains a fantastic addition to any family’s collection.
