Jennifer Jill Araya’s performance is nothing short of extraordinary, her ability to shift seamlessly between the voices of Hagar and Moses adding a layer of depth that elevates Where the Desert Blooms. The dual narrative approach keeps the story dynamic, ensuring no moment feels overly familiar. Pacing is just right, with each chapter building tension and revealing new layers of faith and humanity. However, some scenes could benefit from slightly more variation in tone to fully capture the diverse emotions at play. Despite this minor quibble, Araya’s voice and Elliott’s storytelling create a compelling auditory experience that makes the desert bloom vividly on the listener's mind.
