As an editor, I was thoroughly charmed by the romance in Written in the Stars, and Lauren Sweet's narration is a significant reason why. Sweet brings a captivating warmth to Astrid and Persephone's story, conveying the characters' vulnerabilities and passions with remarkable nuance. Bellefleur's writing is cleverly paced, and Sweet's delivery skillfully balances the narrative's lighthearted moments with its more poignant, heartfelt scenes. While I appreciated the way the author tackled issues surrounding identity and community, I did find some of the supporting characters to be somewhat one-dimensional. Additionally, the pacing in the middle section of the book occasionally felt a bit uneven.
